Every year for at least the past 5 years we’ve been the country folk that head to the big city so kiddo #3 can get an annual x-ray of her legs with the Orthopedic Pediatric Surgeon.
She is an anomaly, with her left tibia being bowed, causing knock-knee and a little over 2cm difference in leg length. It’s been a ride, but it has gotten better on its own throughout the years, and she is basically done growing at the age of 14, so this was our last visit! That means our last $800 x-ray bill to put on a payment plan!
Her nicknames include peg leg (pirates and rickets), and short king (shrek). If she truly is done growing, she is the shortest of the 4 kids.
Anyway, she could have knee issues later, but the leg length difference is small enough that the studies that have been done suggest that it’s a small chance for problems later.
I’m seriously hoping to never visit that hospital again, since I lived there a week when #1 ruptured her appendix in 2020.
