There’s a small town in Northeast Ohio that is home to the Schantz Organ Company. They had a 150 year anniversary open house, so we enriched our homeschool music class by checking it out!
We got to walk through their factory. They had a lot of history on their family and the company. We went room by room to see how they cut and solder pipes and build cabinets. We saw hand tools, power tools, and even their CNC machine. They also make electric blowers for organs.
They had about eight different jobs they were working on currently, and their furthest installation was all the way in Australia! I would have definitely signed up to be part of that installation team!
Here’s a few photos. I love walking through factories. Seeing old tools, taking in old greasy smells, learning the history.
