The problem is, I worked the weekend, and had volunteer commitments both Saturday and Sunday as well. That means we didn&#8217;t meal plan, ate out way too much, and didn&#8217;t focus on any maintenance cleaning. Now the dishes and laundry are backed up, the recyclables need taken to the township recycling bins, I need to pull out meat to thaw so I can prep some lasagnas, and so much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Honestly, it&#8217;s like a typical day. I always feel like we have fallen behind on something, and there always seems to be a million projects, so overwhelmed feelings are a constant for me, which is why I have anxiety issues. It&#8217;s still a work in progress on how to manage those feelings and tasks, but there are some things I do that I think help some.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Focus on one room at a time<\/li><li>Take frequent breaks so I don&#8217;t burn out<\/li><li>Enlist the girls to help with a few tasks<\/li><li>Make lists and break each thing down<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Breaking down a task into smaller tasks helps my mind focus better, and gives it that little sense of accomplishment when that little task is complete. For example, instead of listing out&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Do the dishes<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It may look something more like&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Do the dishes<ul><li>Silverware<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Plates<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Bowls<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Baking sheets<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Cups<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Having all these tiny subgroups of dishes to focus on helps. Brains are weird, am I right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So for today in general, I&#8217;m hoping to update the blog, make a few lasagnas, do some dishes, get some laundry done, toss out the Christmas tree, take out recycling, and clear the dining room a bit.
